My Real Self
I was born considerably less than a hundred years ago in a not-so-small town in Texas.
At an inevitable age, I left Texas to attend Juilliard. Upon graduation, I joined The Acting Company and toured for three years in classical repertory, racking up miles and iambic pentameters. I’ve been happily migrating between N.Y. and L.A. ever since.
My Fictional Selves
I’ve played a lot of “mad, bad and dangerous to know” types. Perhaps the best known of these are Bebe the conniving agent on Frasier, the vengeful Felicia Tilman on Desperate Housewives – and Mrs. Meers, the white slaver in Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Earlier this year, I was up to no good as the wicked stepmother in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway. I’m currently co-starring in Show Boat at the San Francisco Opera.

Dear Miss Harris…I saw your performance last night in “It Shouda Been You”. As expected, you were fabulous! As was the entire cast. A really great, true, fun, beautifully directed Broadway show. As a former Broadway/Ballet professional, I can honestly say that few people make a lasting impression. Some have that theatrical magic, that star dust. You certainly are one of those people. Thank you for your brilliant work. It is most appreciated. PS: Richie Ridge told me that you were amazing when he interviewed you 🙂
